Mr. Robert E. Siegel, Chairman
Robert Siegel is a general partner at X/Seed Capital Management with more than 22 years of operating experience in an array of large and small technology companies. Before joining X/Seed Robert was general manager of the Video and Software Solutions unit of GE Security. Robert was an executive vice president of the fabless semiconductor company Pixim and was the founder and CEO of Weave Innovations, which developed network services focused on delivering photos and other digital media to PCs, Internet appliances and mobile devices. Robert lectures at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business and is the co-inventor on three patents. Robert earned his BA from UC Berkeley and an MBA from Stanford University.
Dr. Jason K. Holt
Dr. Jason Holt left Lawrence Livermore National Lab, where he was a Staff Scientist and principal investigator on several R&D projects, to co-found NanOasis as its Chief Technology Officer and commercialize the development of carbon nanotube membranes. Dr. Holt was a first author of the seminal 2006 paper “Fast Mass Transport through Sub–2-Nanometer Carbon Nanotubes”, published in the journal Science. Dr. Holt is an expert in nanofluidics, nanocomposite synthesis and the development of platforms for the study of flow at nanometer length scales. Dr. Holt earned his PhD in Chemical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology.
Mr. Robert Chess
A successful, experienced entrepreneur, Rob Chess simultaneously serves as Chairman of publicly listed company Nektar Therapeutics (NASDAQ:NKTR); Rob served as Nektar’s CEO from 1992 through 1999. Rob also serves as Chairman of start-up OPX Biotechnologies after having served as its CEO during 2007-2008. Rob was previously co-founder and President of Penederm, Inc., a publicly traded pharmaceutical company that was sold to Mylan Laboratories. He has held management positions at Intel Corporation and Metaphor Computer Systems (now part of IBM), and was a member of the first President Bush’s White House staff. Rob received his BS in Engineering from the California Institute of Technology and an MBA from Harvard.
