NanOasis is an early-stage, venture-backed start-up company in the SF Bay Area developing break-through polymer thin-film nanocomposite membrane technology for a host of purification applications. These membranes offer increased productivity, robustness and high selectivity to analytes of interest, enabling novel applications in the environmental, medical, and clean-energy fields.

Recently NanOasis won one of the inaugural DOE ARPA-E awards. Only 37 companies were granted awards from among almost 4,000 applicants. Using this award NanOasis is developing revolutionary membranes that will greatly reduce the energy intensity of desalination, water reuse and water treatment.

NanOasis is seeking a BS level (Chemical Engineering/Chemistry/Materials) candidate to join our team. The position will be filled ASAP. The candidate must be familiar with essential chemistry laboratory procedures and safety protocols. In addition, the candidate will need to be comfortable working with equipment, including performing routine maintenance, and assisting in organizing our labs.

Responsibilities will include:
•Executing routine syntheses and characterizations under the supervision of one of our staff scientists
• Maintaining clean & safe labs
• Maintaining equipment
• Assisting with management of hazardous waste
• Ordering materials and managing shipping & receiving of lab equipment/supplies

Requirements:
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to complete tasks on time
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• BS in Chemistry, Materials Science or Chemical Engineering

Candidate will work collaboratively with the technical team and should expect regular supervision.
